Frequently Asked Questions
We are excited to announce that Lord Jesus Church (LJC) will be entering into a collaborative partnership with Resoul Church starting from June 1, 2025.
LJC will be joining Resoul in their Sunday 10:00 AM Worship Services.
This joint effort is a strategic step in furthering our shared mission to reach, grow, and serve our communities more effectively.
Please note: this is not a merger of the two churches.
LJC remains an independent church family with its own identity, leadership, and mission.
However, this partnership allows us to strengthen our worship experience, share resources, and build deeper community through intentional cooperation.
We understand that you may have questions about what this collaboration means for you and our church.
A Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.) document has been prepared to address common inquiries and provide more detail about the nature of this collaboration.
For further clarification or personal questions, we encourage you to speak directly with Senior Pastor Ron Guanzon of LJC or Senior Pastor Sonny of Resoul and their respective boards.
They are more than happy to provide insight and guidance.
We look forward to what God will do through this new chapter and thank you for your prayers, trust, and unity as we move forward together.
We have been blessed to be at 13 Riverside Ave for the past 3 years.
From the beginning, this was always a temporary occupancy agreement which has now elapsed as per Ps Venancio’s request for Inspire Life Church to use our current space in preparation for this coming winter and for their ongoing services thereafter.
In this current season, the Lord has led us to expand and extend, reaching out in collaboration with Resoul church as it will benefit both church communities.
We have seen God’s provision through this and we see this as God’s leading for this coming season.
We have exhausted many avenues and reviewed many buildings (buying, renting, hiring etc) that currently does not suit the season we are in.
As of current we still do not have the financial capabilities to own a venue.
However, we are still working towards it and our LJC building fund is still intact and growing.
We understand that each person’s individual needs vary, therefore we are here to pray with you and discuss where the Holy Spirit is leading us for the common ground of the spiritual interest of LJC.
LJC’s ministries will still remain in effect.
For example, lifegroups and prayer meetings can continue as they are.
Our ministries are open for Resoul to join and vice versa – if they also have or are needing support.
All LJC ministries that function in the venue will work in a collaborative effort with Resoul church.
TLO will continue to be with LJC – displayed on screen during service as internet banking.
Physical cash offered in the basket will be Resoul’s and not contributing to LJC’s finances.
Yes.
It will still remain as is. Reporting lines continue to function as per the proper channels of the organisational flow chart.
From there, the LJC board will then pass on queries and suggestions to Resoul church.
If there are any problems or queries, please escalate first to your respective head on the LJC Organisational chart.
We are not merged.
We are using this time to foster the possibility of a merger in the future with the leading of the Holy Spirit.
As of current, we are working collaboratively and cooperatively side by side, Resoul church and Lord Jesus Church to benefit the growth of both churches in its vision, mission, people and to affect the community
There will continue to be deacons’ meetings for LJC with the future intention (post a ‘meet and greet’ and the next opportune time) of collaborative deacons’ meetings with Resoul.
At this point in time, this is a temporary set up that will be assessed in October 2025 when Ps Sonny is present.
We are still open to the possibilities of future collaborative efforts together.
We (LJC) are guests at the venue with collaborative roles. We will abide by Resoul’s house rules.
However, we at LJC still abide by our own spiritual house rules and ethics and governance.
Fiona will be designated as the head in the absence of Ps Sonny. Fiona will be in charge of the service as an operational lead and we will submit to the Resoul’s operational program of the service.
Our role is only to be suggestive for the betterment. Resoul Church is open for suggestions, however, not all suggestions will be followed, but all will be listened to.
All leadership that is related to LJC will still be governed and operated in the same way we have been functioning. Likewise, Resoul will be functioning the same away.
However, LJC will be functioning under Resoul’s house rules. We will cooperate together with one thing in mind: to strengthen, equip, encourage and enlighten as the body of Christ.
LJC continues and maintains its spiritual authority.
We submit to Resoul from an operational perspective.
We will foster a symbiotic relationship.
Discipline of each church is under the spiritual discipline of each church’s elders.
This is filled by another church.
We will maintain our one theme. 1 John 17:21-24
Continue to invite as usual, either as Resoul or LJC.
Preferably mention collaboration. Let us not have a possessive attitude (e.g. my church, your church… welcome them home!)
If LJC was to leave, that doesn’t mean the newly invited members are wholly LJC or Resoul.
The members are free to choose. Avoid cliques.
LJC and Resoul must be very careful with language that leads to ownership.
